Spam PreventionIdeal Internet is now taking an active role in spam prevention. We have recently introduced some new features on our mail server which has dramatically reduced the amount of unsolicited email we are receiving. To help further, we would make the following recommendations to web-site designers and clients.
If you're a web designer, you can use these programs to hide e-mail addresses from harvesting spiders. Alternatively, leave your email address off your web pages and use enquiry forms instead. Most email addresses are 'harvested' by robot programs from web-site content.
If you are subscribing to a mailing list, ask us for a separate email address for this purpose. Once you have unsubscribed from the list, emails can be bounced.
Don't click the remove link in spam emails, that only confirms to the spammers that your email address is valid and you will get even more junk.
If you have the time, you can view the source of the email, then use this page to to find out who owns the IP block that the message came from and complain to their abuse department.
If you have a persistent spammer, tell us about it, we can now filter emails by sender, subject or content.
